Taxis, boda bodas (motorcycle taxis) mini buses (costas, rosas), private hires/rental cars and bikes. Heck, you might even flag down a rickshaw…. well, there’s only one in Jinja. But all you need to know, geographically, is this: Everything radiates from the Main Street.
The average price for an economy car in Jinja is around $25 to $50 per day, but the sky’s the limit if you want a little more extravagant.
Free parking is abundant. Virtually every major hotel offers free parking.
Taxi fares in Jinja are around $15 to $50 for rides within a 20km radius but may vary with the condition of the road your trip takes you. All taxis accept cash and none we know of that accept credit card payments so it might be a good idea to make a quick dash to the ATM first.
Jinja on Foot
You will still cover a lot of the city on foot. Be sure to wear comfortable/light shoes and carry a bottle of water, especially during hot months.
